Drawings Format: The details & blocks in the Library have .dwg extension and work with AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Details Preview: Details and blocks in the Library templates have .dwf extension (Autodesk Design Web Format) and can be viewed by clicking on the thumbnail detail number. For best viewing, set your Volo® View or Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer background to Black. Viewing the details requires Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer or Volo® View. You may have to download the viewer if you do not have it on your computer. It is free and available at: www.autodesk.com

Scale: The details are drawn to actual scale (i.e. 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1" etc.). The blocks are drawn at 1:1 scale.

Layers: All details, sections & blocks (except for the Layer 0 Library) are drawn with the proper layers for each material, member and text. The Library site has a detailed list of axiomcpl™ layers including description, name, color and line type. There are also additional layers in the structural details library (current status, review boxes, library detail number, detail frames, etc.) that may be turned off.

Fonts: Two fonts are used in the details and sections. Simplex is used for typical text and Helv is used for title text.

Incorporating the Structural Details: In order to incorporate the structural details and sections into your final drawing you have three main options

Option 1: library previews

  1. Drag the details into the open drawing and compose your final sheet.
  2. Change layer names and colors to match yours (or you can map the layers)
  3. Plot using your own ctb file.

Option 2: library previews

  1. Download our axiomcpl™ layer file inside the library.
  2. Do not change the names of layers.
  3. Change the layer colors only to match your own ctb file.
  4. Save the new layer file as a separate drawing file.
  5. Open a new blank drawing.
  6. Insert the modified layer file you saved in Step 4.
  7. Drag all the desired details.
  8. Colors of details will change as they are inserted.
  9. Plot using your own ctb file.

Option 3: library previews

  1. Use the axiomcpl™ system.
  2. Download our axiomcpl™ layer file inside the library for reference only.
  3. Open a new blank drawing.
  4. Drag all the desired details.
  5. Plot using axiomcpl ctb files.

You can download our axiomcpl™ ctb files and the fonts we use under Samples.
